Highlights:

  • The India Ringathon 2024 final was on May 21st.
  • More than 30 teams and 90 participants competed in our first innovation contest held at our India office.

At RingCentral, we encourage creativity and collaboration. Some of our biggest breakthroughs come when we ditch the script and entertain new, imaginative ideas. Our first India Hackathon (dubbed a Ringathon by the India team) gave our engineering teams the chance to explore AI-powered technologies in search of innovative solutions for our customers.

AI Everywhere

This year’s India Ringathon theme was “AI Everywhere,” focusing on UCaaS and CCaaS and how to optimize the user experience. A total of 90+ competitors submitted more than 30 ideas. The first round of judging was conducted by Senior Vice President and General Manager Sathesh Murthy, senior engineering leaders Umeshiaiah Chandraiah and Prabhat Biswas, architect Manish Chatterjee and product managers Ankur Kishore and Partha Mandal. Seventeen teams moved on to the qualifying round, and 10 of their visionary projects made it to the finals.

Solutions going above and beyond.

On May 21st, the 10 finalist teams showcased their ingenious, imaginative, and inspiring ideas. Final prototypes were required to have end-to-end demos that were relevant to RingCentral’s current suite of products and provide a solution for one or more user demands. Teams were judged on 5 parameters:  business value (20%), innovation (30%), technical implementation (20%), user experience (20%), and presentation (10%).

I was impressed by the participants’ great creativity, knowledge of technology, and most importantly, their desire to innovate.

—Vlad Vendrow, Chief Technology Officer at RingCentral

Intuitive contact center solution for the win!

Although each team exhibited exceptional expertise and imagination, there could only be one winner who excelled in all five criteria. This year’s Ringathon champion was team Artificial Interns with their ground-breaking project “Disposition Code Matching.” Congratulations to team members Keshav Mittal, Akshat Karodiya, Gautam Rizwani, and Pratyush Ranjan for identifying and innovating a revolutionary new contact center solution.

Ringathon 2024, India’s first-ever Hackathon was a resounding success. The energy and enthusiasm, as well as the creativity and collaboration demonstrated by the 90+ participants, is what made this possible.  As a growing product development hub, the hackathon marks a major milestone. This is just the beginning, the best is yet to come.

—Sathesh Murthy, General Manager and Senior Vice President, RingCentral India

Solutions driving innovation.

Our India developers rose to the challenge, embodying RingCentral’s relentless drive for innovation. The India Ringathon not only leveraged AI technology but also celebrated our passion for collaboration and problem-solving. At RingCentral India, we innovate together, and go “Above and Beyond.”
