On February 27th, we welcomed over 50 tech professionals to our office for an engaging evening of knowledge exchange and networking. The event was organized in collaboration with JUG BG, the famous Java group, bringing together the local tech community to discuss Java-related topics.

Our event took place in the evening of a workday, so we took care of preparing some snacks and drinks for our guests. It’s important to have a bite before consuming a bunch of useful knowledge.

We had two brilliant speakers presenting at the event. Our own Daniil Bashmakov, Sr Software Engineer, explored the challenges and benefits of applying functional programming principles, discussed practical ways to incorporate them without disrupting an OOP-based project, and explained how the Either monad can improve control flow and error handling.

Our second speaker, Pasha Finkelshteyn from BellSoft, came all the way down from Berlin to talk about leveraging AI to enhance documentation accessibility. Pasha took us on a journey through Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), explaining how to index and utilize existing content to build an intelligent bot that answers user questions.

In order to make the experience more interactive, we encouraged the audience to ask questions. Our speakers then selected the best questions — and their authors received gift bags from RingCentral.

At RingCentral, we believe that sharing knowledge and fostering professional connections are key to driving innovation. This evening was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and strengthen ties within the tech community.

We are thankful to our speakers Daniil and Pasha for their insightful presentations, JUG BG for this fruitful collaboration and to everyone who joined us! Stay tuned for more tech events coming soon.
