Goods & Services Tax (GST): This is a broad-based consumption tax levied on the import of goods (collected by Singapore Customs), as well as nearly all supplies of goods and services in Singapore. In other countries, GST is known as the Value-Added Tax or VAT. In Singapore, GST is levied on most goods and services provided by registered businesses in Singapore and on goods and some services imported from outside Singapore. The default GST rate in Singapore is the standard rate, which is currently 7%.
