Since the start of the global pandemic, businesses have slowly found their bearings in this new world of work. And now as we see hope at the end of the tunnel, businesses are faced with another challenge: what’s next?
For starters, we know that remote work paved the way for more hybrid approaches to work. In fact, 3 in 5 companies already offer hybrid work to some degree, and many more are joining the party.
But going hybrid or remote isn’t as simple as sending employees home—especially for businesses entrenched in their legacy systems. Businesses have to navigate different service providers, on-premises infrastructure, integrations, and proprietary technologies.
This is why we’re excited to announce our new partnership with Bandwidth Inc., a leading global enterprise communications platform and cloud-native carrier.
Our partnership with Bandwidth Inc.
Our two companies will create a new “bring your own carrier” (BYOC) solution called Duet for RingCentral, where businesses can enjoy both Bandwidth’s global telephony network and RingCentral’s cloud-based, feature-rich global platform.
In a nutshell, Bandwidth will soon extend its DuetSM solution to include RingCentral. Users will be able to make calls using Bandwidth’s voice services while using RingCentral for other features, including team messaging, video conferencing, and other enterprise features.
This aims to accomplish several goals:
1. A seamless migration to the cloud
Businesses moving to the cloud face several challenges, including lost productivity and disruptions to day-to-day operations. The new joint BYOC solution tackles this by offering businesses more flexibility and control of their communications setup.
For example, businesses can choose to use only Bandwidth’s voice services, or use Bandwidth voice services alongside RingCentral services via Duet for RingCentral. This brings Bandwidth’s voice services into the RingCentral MVP platform.
2. Enterprise-grade features
Whether you’re already in the cloud or plan to migrate soon, you’ll want the best features backing your communications system. Here’s what users can expect from RingCentral:
99.999% availability
RingCentral sets the industry benchmark on availability and reliability with our 99.999% uptime SLA. That translates to just five minutes of downtime per year (including scheduled maintenance). Companies can rest assured knowing their users will always have access to their tools at any time.
