Responsibilities:
General Manager, Germany will have direct P&L responsibility for RingCentral Germany operations. The main goal is to quickly establish RingCentral as a dominant player in the German SRN market. This position will be based out of the U.S. (Northern California), with frequent travel to Germany. GM Germany will report directly to the CEO with the following specific responsibilities (all with respect to RingCentral German products and services):
Direct Responsibilities:
- P&L responsibility with the goal of profitable operations from inception
- Team recruitment and management
- Localization (feature selection, translations, regulatory, taxation)
- Competitive positioning and pricing
- Product marketing (German website and supporting materials)
- Marketing (online, telesales, offline as appropriate)
- Business development (OEM, VAR, retail)
Indirect (matrix):
- Deployment (network operations & local infrastructure as appropriate)
- First and second tier German support
- As member of corporate senior management team, influence over core product direction, features and positioning, particularly with respect to German market
Major Requirements:
- 2+ years GM-level experience managing a software product line in the German market
- Native German speaker (no accent); clear conversational and written English
- Proven business development acumen; “hunter” mentality and track record
- Must be an outstanding team builder, mentor and leader of others; maniacal obsession with improving team efficiency through appropriate motivational techniques and inspired deployment of state of the art tools
- Must have experience in dealing with, and arbitrating amongst, multiple stakeholders, intra- and inter-company
- Strong preference for Internet-related industry experience (at minimum, significant Web-savvy)
- Strong preference for SaaS and telephony / telecommunications experience
- BS/MS EE/CS degree from a top school strongly preferred. MBA from a top-ranked school a strong plus
